Denver, CO (October 11, 2012) -- For the third year in a row, the American Cheese Society (ACS) will
partner with the Brewer’s Association as the artisan cheese partner of the Great American Beer Festival
(GABF). GABF will take place from Thursday, October 11 to Saturday, October 13 at the Colorado
Convention Center in Denver, CO. According to the Brewer’s Association; “Over the course of three days,
49,000 attendees will sample beer from approximately 580 U.S. breweries…As America's premier beer
festival and competition, GABF represents the largest ticketed beer event in the country, bringing together
the brewers and beers that make the U.S. the world's most diverse brewing nation.” Enthusiasm for craft
beer is higher than ever, and tickets to this year’s event sold out in less than one day.

ACS staff and a team of volunteers will sample nearly 650 pounds of artisan and specialty cheeses from
nearly 40 ACS member cheesemakers while attendees enjoy award-winning craft beers from breweries
around the country. For a list of cheeses to be sampled at GABF, please click here.

This event coincides with the 2nd Annual American Cheese Month, held from October 1-31, 2012. Made
official in the State of Colorado with a proclamation by Governor John Hickenlooper, American Cheese
Month is a celebration of North America’s delicious and diverse cheeses and the farmers, cheesemakers,
retailers, cheesemongers, and chefs who bring them to the table. More than 100 special events and
promotions are taking place around the country throughout the month.

In addition to samples at the American Cheese Society’s booth at GABF, attendees can also enjoy a special
beer and cheese pairing class on October 13 from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Five different American artisan
cheeses will be paired with five different beers from Utah’s Uinta Brewing Company. The session is open to
GABF ticket-holders on a first come, first serve basis.
