Cheese Professionals Arrive in Buffalo, NY, for 41st American Cheese Society Annual Conference, July 10-13

Buffalo, New York – July 8, 2024 - Buffalo, New York, will host the 41st annual American Cheese Society (ACS) conference, Cheese For Real, from July 10-13, attracting over 1,000 cheese professionals from the U.S., Canada and beyond. The conference draws cheesemakers, cheesemongers, distributors, importers, writers, and enthusiasts for several days of educational sessions and networking.

  

The ACS annual conference is a pivotal event that underscores the organization’s commitment to education and innovation within the cheese industry. It prepares new generations of members to lead and innovate in a continuously evolving market. Attendees engage in educational sessions and networking events designed to inspire and empower the next wave of industry leaders.

Keynote: Real Food: What to Eat and Why  

Author Nina Planck, a Virginia farmer’s daughter and the pioneering founder of London Farmers Markets, will delve into the health benefits of traditional foods and explain why we should take our food cues from our ancestors. 

 

Reducing GHG Emissions on the Dairy Farm: Project Reviews, Costs, and Funding Opportunities  

This timely session addresses livestock’s relation to climate change and sustainability, focusing on GHG emissions on dairy farms. Attendees will hear about successful mitigation projects and current funding opportunities. 

 

Tasting Session: An Empire of Distinct Fermentation: New York's National Leadership 

This session explores New York’s rich history in brewing, cider-making, cured meat production and cheesemaking. The session includes a guided tasting of New York-made cured and fermented foods and beverages.
